Is it weird to get excited about getting cheap cat litter....

...and for that matter, getting coupons to use on cheap cat litter? Well I don't want to analyze it too much but yes it is weird but I don't care! I refuse to pay $9 or $10 for cat litter when I can get is for $5 or $4 or free! Where am I going with this? Well yesterday I received a free coupon that someone mailed to me personally and it happened to be a Arm & Hammer coupon for cat litter. Back tracking a little bit I've been using these coupons when the Arm & Hammer cat litter goes on sale and get it for an even better sale price. Last week though, I ran out! So on smartcanucks.com I asked if any one had one they wanted to trade. Well a nice lady by the name of halifaxgirl just gave me one without wanting anything in return. I just thought that was the nicest gesture. So many people are always looking to get something in return but this individual just wanted to give rather than receive and so for that I say thank you halifaxgirl! Your kindness is truly appreciated and I shall pass on the kindness to someone else. Cause after all, isn't that what it's all about in this goofy world.

In other coupon/saving news this week I went shopping in Truro and found some great deals. See the breakdown below...

* Lawtons-BOGO Mr. Clean Erasers- $4.00
* Walmart-Janes Chicken Fingers -$5.97 (Reg. $10-12) With coupon took it down to $4.47!
* Walmart-Royale 32 roll toilet paper-$6.98 (Reg. $10-$12...probably) With coupon took it down to $5.98!
* Sobeys-Iam Wet Cat Food -$0.75 minus $0.50 off coupon-A Quarter!
* Sobeys-Michelina's Flat Break Microwavable dinners-BOGO Total $3.00
* Sobeys-Ocean Spray Cocktail Juice-BOGO Total $3.00
* Zellers-Package of 6 Royale Facial Tissue - Reg.-OVERPRICED (Probably $7 or $8..but OVERPRICED!) On for $3.99 less $1.00 off coupon brought it to $3.00! *Side note, this particular package of Royale tissue wasn't scanning through the sale price because it was the 100 sheet box, not the 130 sheet box (insert MAJOR EYE ROLL HERE) Anyway they rang it through the sale price for me. 1 point for Zellers...but only 1 as I think some of their stuff is OVERPRICED!

So that was my shopping trip summed up in a neat little asterisks point list...can you tell I like using them?

And finally I did a very bold or dumb thing, depending on how you look at it, in the coupon trading world....Remember last week I told you guys that I had started my own coupon train...Which is going very well, thank you for asking..really sweet...but yes going well! Anyway I decided I wanted to join someone else's train at the same time just cause I had never been on a coupon train as a passenger. Well can we say "I'm over my head and I don't have a parachute"...I think I just merged two sayings on that one, but any who I will explain. You see this train was set up so that all the passengers send their coupon wish list (coupons they wished they had) to the conductor of the train and she posts them. Then you had to pick 3 coupons from each person's wish list and send it to the conductor and she will send it out to the passengers. I had literally felt like I had nothing that anyone wanted. I scrounged through what little coupons I had left from the ones I sent out on my train and found some that I could give to the other passengers. Although there is a good rule for this train which is that if you didn't have a coupon on someones list then you can use stamp as a substitute which is what I had to do....like 8 times...Plus I sent it express mail so that it would get there by the deadline! So that's not really saving money, ironically. I really felt like a newb! Lesson learned..don't be such an eager beaver Alice! Wait till your own train comes back before hopping tracks and loosing your luggage!....Kind of trailed off but you get my point.

Well when I start talking nonsense it's time for me to go count coupons and drift off to sales...er slumber land....zzzzzzzz...cat litter...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......$4.00!....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Wow this is my first July post and it's mid July!!!!

I am very sorry about this, just been way busy around here and at work that coupons have been taking a bit of a back seat (*spitting*) I know I know that is an awful thing to say...I will never say it again. But in these last 3 or 4 years since my last post I have obtained quite a few good deals that I wish to share with you.....whether you like it or not ;)

I was shopping for sunglasses the other day and stumbled upon a pair of brand new Liz Claiborn sunglasses at the Liquidation center in Amherst. They were originally $54.00 on the price tag marked down to $8.00!!!!! Say Whaaaa!!!!! Plus they are pretty durable. I've already dropped them like 5 times and probably ran over them with my car and they are still in one piece! Wonders never cease!

So that was a good day...Then just yesterday I went to Walmart and did my first PM!!! For all you newbies like me out there that means price match. Walmart does price matches on items that are on sale and promoted at other stores in their flyers. Well we were running errands and were in Walmart. I wanted us to stop at Canadian tire to get Arm & Hammer Cat litter which was on sale for $4.97 but then remembered "Hey dummy! You're standing in the way of that mother and her stroller trying to get by you while you stare at the cat litter! Oh and you can PM the cat litter at Walmart and save a trip down at Canadian tire!" So I did. I went to the customer service desk and showed her the marked down item in the Canadian Tire flyer on my bf's phone and she rang it through at that price! Wicked x 3! Plus she also accepted my $1.00 off coupon so with tax I paid $5.00. Which is funny because that is how much I got back from our recyclables I turned in at the bottle depot. So I pretty much got the cat litter for free! You see..drinking all that beer and wine will inevitably paid for your Cat's toilet contents. I knew there was a reason we drink! LOL!

Speaking of cat products, I also purchased a BlanketID tag for our cat. Now that she goes outside quite often I thought it would be good to get a identification tag for her blinged out collar. I don't even know how she can move around with that collar on, theres so much crap on there that the other outdoor cats make fun of her. But I digress..Anyway wagjag.com had a good deal on where you buy the blanketid.com tag (worth $24.99) and get 2 years free online services (worth about $11.99 a year-1st year is free) for only $15.00 smackers! That's good! So we snagged that puppy off the internet.....Awe...I wanna puppy :(.....Ok sorry, focused.

As well last week I started my first coupon train. This is really a great idea! On smartcanucks.com you can start a coupon train with anyone who wants to participate. So I put the word out I was starting a Nova Scotia train and I surprisingly got a lot of responses. Soon my 10 passenger list was full and I took all of my unwanted coupons, stuffed them in an envelope and mailed them to the first person on my train list. Once they receive it they take the coupons they want out of it and replace it with the same value of coupons that they took. Then they mail it on ot the next person on the list. It's a lot of fun! The person on the list just wrote me today saying that she got the "train" and will send it along to the next person tomorrow! Hopefully I should get it back around the first or second week of August, if everything works out good and have mostly all new coupons.

Well I think that is it for now. My bed is calling me and I hate ignoring it when it yells at me to get my ass in it and sleep.

Till next time fellow savers....and I promise it won't be that long.

BOGO is da BOMB-O

Went to Sobeys today and picked up a couple of their BOGO (Buy One Get One) Free items. I picked up two Kraft Ranch Dressings (the small 250mL bottles) for $2.39 for both, two Dempster Whole Grain wraps (the 248g ones- 8 wraps) for $3.89, two Kraft Pasta Salad Macaroni's (not on BOGO but got $0.30 off with my magazine coupon) for $1.49 and a bottle water. What should have cost me $19.00 only ended up costing me $10.07! That's almost half off! Flippin eh!!

I also picked up some Wonder Bread Simply Plus on at Zellers for $1.99. With my $0.75 off coupon from the Smart Saver it only came to $1.24 when it's normally $2.50.

As well I am heading to Walmart hopefully tonight to pick up my Ponds face cream that is BOGO (Reg. $6.76).

That is my new favourite word...BOGO!....I wonder if it's too much to get that as a tattoo?.....Maybe I'll sleep on that one :)

Best Shopping Day Yet!

You can say that again...Ok! Best Shopping Day Yet! Went off to Amherst today to do some Sunday Shopping and found some great treasures.

Started off by hitting the little Amherst Mall and went into Target. Got some nice black dress pants for half price! Cost me $23.00 even (taxes in) That hardly ever happens!

Went over to Shoppers Drugmart where I was going to use my OB Tampon coupon ($5.00 off WUB 2) on their sale which was set at $2.99. However after reading the coupon more carefully it said I can only use it on regular priced items :( So ex-nayed on the ampons-Tay! BUT instead of walking out of Shoppers defeated I ended up picking up a tube or Green works natural biodegradable cleaning wipes that are normally like $3.99 but were on sale for $1.99. I had my coupon from brandsaver or websaver (can't remember now) for an additional $1.50 off so I only ended up paying $0.79 for it, taxes in! That is some good savings right there!

As great a deal that was to find at Shoppers, I think I hit the jackpot at Walmart. I picked up two Glade Fabric Sprays. I had a Buy One Get One Free coupon (BOGO) from brandsaver so I got only paid $2.37 for both! That made them each only $1.19! I also grabbed a bottle of Maybelline FIT me Foundation that was regular $7.96 but had a websaver coupon for another $5.00 off which brought it to $2.96. Finally I grabbed some Sunlight Dish soap on for $1.49. With my save.ca coupon for another $0.50 off it came to only $0.99! This is also the hand replenishing kind so it's not the boring ole regular stuff. This is fancy :)

Sobeys was a good success as well. This is what my small bill looked like today....
Shredded Cheddar cheese (Sale) $3.00
Quaker Oats Rice Crisps (Sale) 3 for $4.98
Summer Fresh Hummus (Sale) $2.97
Cavendish Flavor Crisps (Sale) $2.29 - (Gocoupons.com coupon $1.00 off) = $1.29
Stoeffers Bistro Chicken Fajitas (Sale) $2.00 x 2=$4.00

Total with Tax: $16.81.....awesome

To top off a good shopping trip I checked out my fave clothing store Joe Fresh where I picked up a few items and received a free $10.00 gift card to use on my next purchase since I spent over $50.00.

I hope the police don't catch me....cause I really felt like I stole some of those things today at those prices!

Who needs to go on Vacation when I have the scent of Febreze Brazilian Spray filling up my kitchen...

....It makes me feel like I'm already in Brazil!......Ok no, not really it's a poor substitute for the real thing...happy?!....but it smells nice...and even better I got it with coupons! Oh yes I did, I trudged through the pouring rain and picked me up some deals.

Before heading in to town my boyfriend and I went to our local Foodland and found some great deals to use with our or should I say my coupons hehe. Ocean Spray Cranberry juice was on sale for $2.49 which is really really good since it's normally $4.99 a jug! I had a $1.00 off coupon from a recent trade and got it for $1.49! Do I like Ocean Spray Cranberry juice? I do now! As well Kraft Shredded Cheese is on sale for $3.99. If you have the save.ca coupon for $1.00 off you can get it for $2.99 like I did. Love it!
I made a stop at Walmart and picked up 3 cans of Febreze Room Sprays. They were on sale for $3.00 each. I had a very good coupon from brandsaver.ca that took an extra $4.00 off WUB 3 Febreze products so I ended up paying only $5.00 for all three. I essentially only paid $1.67 for each which is fantastic considering they usually cost about $5.00 for one of those. They also had Crispers on for a buck as well at the front of the store. There's that word again...buck! Love how it falls off the tongue...

At Sobeys they have Dr. Oetker Panebella pizza on for $4.49. Received a handy $1.00 off coupon for this particular pizza in one of my latest trades and got it for $3.49! Gonna taste really good after that buy! However I made a rookie mistake today when I purchased an Ole El Paso Taco Kit....which is Ok since I am a rookie at this couponing thang! I saw in the flyer that the kits were on sale for $3.99. I thought that was a good deal so I went searching for them and on the shelf I see a price alert showing the kits for $2.99.! This is an even better deal I thought since I had a $1.00 off coupon from save.ca and it would bring it down to $1.99. So me being the eager beaver I grabbed one since it was kind of above the $2.99 sign, paid for it and then looked at my receipt and it only said $3.99 (which is still a good price since they are normally $4.49 or $4.99). I asked the cashier about it and she said that they are only on for $3.99. I said alright, but not being satisfied with the answer I went back to see for myself that I wasn't hallucinating...Sure enough, there it was staring me in the face...$2.99! I go to customer service...yes I went to customer service about this, that's what they are there for...and asked WTF!!!! Well not really that but I kindly inquired as to the correct pricing of the item. She called someone and they said that it was only for a particular kind of kit which I did not check before hand. I guess it was for the very basic taco kit. The one I picked up was the Taco kit with hard and soft shells. So lesson learned. Always read your flyer, price alerts, and coupons correctly! Needless to say I slumped out of Sobeys defeated....well not really...it was only a dollar...but still...I'm over it...

To cheer myself I purchased some lovely summer attire for my wardrobe. A cute little black frilly top and a summery green dress...each $12.00 at Giant Tiger! They actually have very cute clothing in there if no one has discovered this yet. I could dare to compare them to Joe Fresh but lets just wait and see how long they last before I give them that classification.

Finally, I went to Pharmasave and got paper towel on for $0.69. It's the Majesta brand so it's worth it to pick up a couple packages.

It wasn't one of my better shopping trips but as I said before, I've still got my training wheels on here for this whole coupon process. I'm sure as time goes on I will get better at picking out my deals, maybe even sniffing them out...Can you train a bloodhound to sniff out savings? Cause if so it's time to go to the SPCA...again

A Quarter for Hotdog buns! Is this legal!?!

That doesn't seem right to me...A quarter for Wonder bread+ hot dog buns at the Sobeys...I don't even eat hot dogs really and I am picking some up!

So let me just back track a bit so I can explain where I found this WONDER-ful discovery. In this weeks flyer for Sobeys I found a sale on Wonder Bread+ hot dogs buns for $0.99. I have a $0.75 off coupon from a recent coupon trade on smartcanucks.ca for any Wonder Bread+ Product. So that brings it to a Quarter really (plus HST)!

Other good flyer/coupon match ups I found this week are...

Foodland has Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice on for $2.49 this week-With $1.00 off coupon from recent coupon trade brings it to $1.49. I think the coupon came for a flyer or newspaper.

Sobeys has Old El Paso Dinner Kits that are usually on for $4.99 regular price, on sale for $3.99. If you have the Save.ca coupon for $1.00 off you can get it for $2.99..now that's more like it!

Walmart's sales this week on Covergirl Wet Slicks lip gloss is $3.97 each. If you have the $3.00 off WUB (When You Buy) 2 Covergirl products coupon from brandsaver.ca it will basically cost you $5.00 for two. Walmart also has Febreze room sprays on for $3.00 each. I WILL GIVE someone my Febreze coupon for $4.00 off WUB 3 Febreze products coupon and you will get 3 room sprays for $5.00. This is a good deal considering the room sprays usually cost about $4.00 each..so you are a paying a dollar more on top of what you would normally pay for one room spray to get two more additional room sprays. Just email me at allywooo@hotmail.com if you are interested in the coupon and I will send it off to you.

Finally Giant Tiger has some cute stripped tank tops on for $3.00 each. Perfect for the warm weather I HOPE WE ARE GETTING SOON! As well they also have Majesta toilet paper (8 double rolls) on for $3.49. If you have the save.ca $1.00 off Majesta Bathroom tissue any size you can get it for $2.49! Stocking up shall we say...I've got two of these coupons burning a hole in my pocket!

Alright time to go to bed...and dream of coupons...Did I say that out loud........

Uh oh....I think I am starting to get some stock piles going on....

....But at least it is all stuff that I need to buy anyway. I went into town today and found some more great deals. I swear they are throwing themselves at me...don't look at me that way!....I'm helpless under their power!.....so weak....

Anyway enough of that, let me tell you what I found...and what you can find too!

* Canadian Tire: This week they have a sale on Tide Active-lift laundry detergent (38 Loads) for $4.59 (Reg. $8.99). I had a coupon from brandsaver.ca that was $5.00 off when you buy two Tide or Downey products. With tax I only paid $5.56 for two of those. It's safe to say I think I have enough laundry detergent for a while...what with the Arm & Hammer detergent I bought last week...Oy vey!

* Sobeys: Olay body wash is on sale this week at Sobeys for $3.49 (Reg. $4.99) I had another coupon from brandsaver.ca that took off $5.00 when I buy two. That came to $1.89 for both! Again...good on body wash now as I am starting to get a little stock pile in our washroom. As well at Sobeys I picked up Black Diamond Cheese slices (24) on sale for $2.99 (Reg. $5.99) Had a $0.75 off coupon from one of my recent coupon trades on smartcanucks.ca (See previous posts if you are not sure what I am referring to) so that brought it to $2.24. My boyfriend will be happy as he loves cheese slices :) For my kitty I also picked up a can of Iams cat food on for $0.75. With my brandsaver $0.50 off coupon I got it for a quarter! A quarter! That's how much that stuff should cost anyway! Throw in a sparkling peach drink at $0.88 and I only paid, with tax $6.74 for everything!

* Walmart: So right off the bat I got a 2L thing of Fanta on sale for a buck (Reg. $1.99 I think) and another Glade solid room scent that was also on for a buck (Reg. $1.99). I like saying buck...buck buck buck buck....ok I'll stop

* Pharmasave: I love Pharmasave, can I just say that. When I'm looking for foundation on sale, no where else has it except for Pharmasave. They've got Covergirl foundation on for $4.99 each (Reg. $8.99) so already it's half off. I had a $1.00 coupon from brandsaver so it came to with tax $4.74! Awesome right! They had this sale on a few weeks back and I didn't get one then, and was kicking myself for it but didn't let it slip past my fingers this week!

So what should have cost me roughly $55.83 (that's taxes in) Only ended up costing $19.46! I saved $36.37! Feeling good about that...yep...now to celebrate i'm going to go do some laundry...I should have some detergent lying around somewhere ;)

Found a great new website....

...It's called Sell My Deal (http://www.sellmydeal.com/HowItWorks.aspx). Here is the link that tells you all about it. This is a great way to sell your daily deals that you've purchased and no longer want. As well you can also search your city for people who are selling a daily deal that you may be interested in. I think this is wonderful invention!

Hey people with dirty clothes! Have I got good news for you....

...Giant tiger is having an AMAZING sale on Arm & Hammer Laundry detergent. Its on for $2.48 (Reg. $4.97). If you have the Arm & Hammer Laundry coupon (http://save.ca/armhammersave/coupons) for an additional $0.75 off you can bring the price down to $1.74! They are practically giving it away at that price! Better hurry and grab a couple containers before they are all gone.....

Another great day, another great deal!

So my boyfriend and I went into town today and had a really nice day! We definately got some shopping in and found some great deals. Just to let you know fellow bluenosers you could get some or all of these deals as well. Here are some of the great findings discovered today....

Canadian Tire: Arm & Hammer Cat litter on sale for $4.49. With $1.00 off coupon from my recent trade on smartcanucks.ca it came to, with taxes $4.16! Very good deal on cat litter for all you cat lovers out there!

Zellers: These were some AWESOME DEALS!...can I say that again...AWESOME DEALS.....Aveeno Body Lotion on sale for $6.99. With $2.00 off coupon from save.ca it came to $4.99. This is an awesome find considering it was regular $9.99 ($12.99 at other locations) This next finding was even better! They had Secret deodorant on two for $5.00 (Reg. $3.99 each). Not bad not bad...but then I had a $3.00 off coupon when you buy any two Secret Cucumber Aloe deodorant from my trade at smartcanucks.ca...soooo basically I got each one for $1.00!!!! A $1.00! That I think is one of my best findings yet! My final bill with everything, tax in, came to $8.79! FANTASTIC!

Walmart: We trotted up to Walmart and I got two Catelli Healthy Harvest Pasta for $1.67 each, good deal. With that I also had a $1.00 coupon (I believe that one is from websaver.ca) so really I got one of those pastas for $0.67. I also picked up a Glade Air Freshner for a $1.00 (Not the aerosol spray). $3.67 was my final bill here.

Pharmasave: Finally we stopped by Pharmasave and picked up Majesta Paper towel (2 rolls) for $0.69! As well I picked up a Crest 3D White Vivid toothpaste for $1.99 (the smaller tube was on sale) and then I had a manufacturers coupon for a $1.00 off so it came to $0.99! This was a great find as I really wanted to try this product. Also I got some Aleve (24 capsules) that I got for $4.99 with my $1.00 off coupon from save.ca. BONUS! When I opened up the Aleve box there were coupons inside for my next Aleve purchase! Simply marvelous! My total bill came to $7.97 with tax.

All together it all came to $24.92 with tax. (*Patting self on the back*) I can't believe I was able to get all of that for under $25.00! This couponing thing is paying off..literally!

Very good day and successful shopping trip!

Thursday, May 19, 2011

Well this was a let down.....

....Not the greatest sales in the flyer this week however I did find a few you fellow bluenosers may be interested in. Please note that I will be only talking about current sales going on in Nova Scotia that I have matched up with my coupons. I will do them in point form as it is more fun this way...

* Sobeys: Fructis is buy one, get one free (BOGO) and if you have the websaver.com Garnier Fructis coupons (Ie: Save $1.00 off Anti Dandruff Shampoo) you can get some good deals.
* Colgate Total is also BOGO at Sobeys and you can get the websaver coupon right now online for a $1.00 off Colgate Total toothpaste and use it to your advantage.
* Giant Tiger has Febreze Sprays on for $2.97 each. If you ordered the Febreze coupon at brandsaver.ca for Save $4.00 when you buy any three Febreze products, you can get 3 spray bottles for about $4.91 (before taxes) Good deal.
* Here's a really good sale even without a coupon from Canadian Tire. They have Arm & Hammer Cat litter on sale for $4.49 which is really good considering it's usually $7.49. You should be able to use their $1.00 off coupon from the Arm & Hammer website for this purchase to save even more http://armandhammer.ca/products/pet-care/cat-care/?247SEM (This one is printable but you will need to download their printer settings to your computer)
* Finally this one is good for anyone who is curious to try the L'Oreal Youthcode Skin product but doesn't want to pay full value. At Zellers right now it is on sale for $19.99 (which is reg. $24.99 there) If you have the websaver coupon for this product which is save $3.00 off you can get it for $16.99 before tax. Now I have a coupon but won't really be buying this product but if anyone would like to have it they can just comment on my blog that they can email me at allywooo@hotmail.com and the first one who writes in I will mail it to them.

Well that's the highlight of what I found today with sales and coupon matching. However, I am going to re-look again tomorrow and let you know if I made any new discoveries. Tune in tomorrow b'ys!

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Ok, I know this sounds bizzare but......

...Is anyone else excited for the flyers coming out tomorrow?!!!....I mean I guess if they come that's cool...whatever....................OK I'm a Dork! I AM EXCITED FOR THE FLYERS! :)

I can't wait to pair up my coupons with any great sales that are lying in wait between those golden (ok slightly off white) papers!

I am also looking forward to receiving my first trade coupons in the mail. For those of you who don't know what I mean, allow me to sit down, put my feet up and explain.....If you go on my new favorite site, www.smartcanucks.ca you can start to trade coupons with other fellow couponers. Just go to the website, click on the Coupons Tab and then at the bottom of the drop menu it says Coupon Trading. Click on there and your coupon world will explode in joy! You will find lists upon lists of coupons from smartcanuck users who are willing to trade those coupons in exhange for coupons on their wish list (located at the bottom of the individual's list). *Please note you will need to set up a free account before you join but it is well worth it and it doesn't take long. Currently I am awaiting coupons on Arm & Hammer cat litter (exciting, I know) fishing equipment, Glade Fabric spray and Ocean spray juices just to name a few.

As soon as I have perused the flyers I will update my findings on here in case any of you have similar coupons you can use. OK, time to go to bed and count coupons to try to sleep.........kidding.....just kidding.

Monday, May 16, 2011

So I got in my ark and went shopping today!

Is it just the Maritimes or is anyone else experiencing the 40 days and 40 nights of constant rain?!!! I am really hoping we are going to be seeing that.....um...........that.......wait I know it starts with an "s".............that big yellow thing in the sky soon :( Well despite the potential flooding of our driveway I did manage to escape today with a good friend of mine and head into Amherst for some retail therapy.

First stop was Walmart where I picked up a Mr. Clean Febreeze Spray that was on sale for $2.00 (reg. $2.99 or $3.99) Used my www.brandsaver.com Mr. Clean Spray coupon of $0.75 off and got it for $1.25! Now our apartment will smell of lavender and all purpose cleaner! Hmmmmmmmm spring is in the air!

Then we sauntered over to the Atlantic Superstore where I made a killing at Joe Fresh, my fav clothing store. I used their $10.00 off $50.00 or more apparel coupon they currently have online now http://www.joefresh.com/en/fresh_promotions/get_your_coupons/ I also had a $50.00 gift card that my lovely sweetheart of a boyfriend gave me for Christmas. So I was able to purchase 5 shirts and a pair of leggings, and after all the deductions I only paid $14.00 for everything! I highly recommend checking out your local Joe Fresh store and taking advantage of this deal. It is only available until Sunday, May 22nd.

So after a very successful clothing trip I headed over to my local Foodland grocery store and found a couple more great in store coupons that were matched with sale items. Today I was able to purchase Ah Caramels & Delissico pizza on for a great price. Ah Caramels is usually on for $4.00. They were on sale today $2.22. There was an in store coupon for another $0.50 off so it brought it down to $1. 72. Sweeter than the Ah Caramels.....The Delissio Thin Crust Deluxe pizza that is normally $7.99 was on sale for $4.99 compared with an in store coupon for $0.50 off took it down to $4.49. If you are heading out to Foodland, that sale is going on till Thursday.

On a side note, I've started doing some coupon trading through www.smartcanucks.ca and I have to tell you it's a lot of fun so far. Talking with other fellow couponers who are willing to give me a coupon I've been looking for, in exchange for one that I may have that they want is a really great system... I tell ya's, going to the mail this week is going to be quite interesting ;)

Attention Tissue User!

Well this morning I headed to my local Guardian's Pharmacy and picked up 6 boxes of Royale Ultra Facial Tissue that were on sale for $0.59 a box. I had a $1.00 off coupon from www.gocoupons.ca and brought the price down to $0.42 per box. I think we are good on tissue now for the next little while. Great sale deal plus the boxes are soooo purdy (ahhhh, such a girl :P)

By the way, if you don't have a Guardian's nearby, the same sale is going on right now at participating Shoppers Drug Mart. Go pick some up today before they are all gone!

Savings Continued from Tuesday

Hello folks,

I had started typing up this blog a few days ago but I guess with the updates the site has undergone it looks like it got deleted (*starts slaming head against table*) But that is life, right! (*continues to slam head against table*)
Anyway here is a brief recap of the rest of my Tuesday sales/coupon shopping. Lets do this in point form shall we, it always looks nicer.

* Went to Pharmasave-Purchased L'Oreal Hair Mask Conditioner (Regular $6.99) Was on sale for $2.99- Had a $2.00 off coupon- Came to $0.99 before tax (YAY!)
* Went to Zellers next -Purchased Garnier Fructis No Frizz styling cream (Regular $4.99) Was on sale for $2.49-Had a $1.00 off coupon-Came to $1.49 before tax (DOUBLE YAY!)
* Finally went to Shoppers- Purchased Olay Body Wash (Nice Lilac smelly stuff *sniff* Ha!) (Regular $4.99) Was on sale for $3.99-Had a $2.00 off coupon-Came to $1.99 before tax (TRIPLE YAY!)

So I ended up getting close to $20.00 worth of products for a grand total of......are you ready for this......are you sure.....you better sit down...$5.80! Not. Too. Shabby!

Okay so I know what you are thinking "Geeze that's good for beauty products but what about groceries you silly Newf!" Well first of all, I am not a Newf all though I do admire them deeply, I am from Nova Scotia not Newfoundland (Beautiful province by the way). Second I did do some grocery shopping and got some very good deals. Please see below for details.

* Janes Chicken Nuggets (Remember this from my previous post) Used my $2.00 coupon from the http://www.surgele.ca/Concours/Produits-Participants/Zone-Coupons.aspx website (that was all in french by the way) They were on sale for $6.99, got them for $4.99.
* Yoplait Strawberry Yogurt- Had a $1.00 off coupon from www. gocoupons.com. It was on sale for $2.99, got it for $1.99
* Cavendish Crispy Fries-There was an instore coupon for them for $1.00 off. They were on for $2.99 (Regular Price) and I got them for $1.99
* Kellogs Chocolately Delicious snack bar- Had a $0.50 off coupon from www.save.ca. They were on sale for 2 for $5.00 and I got them for $4.50

I know it may not seem like very much however it does bring down the cost of your grocery bill. I ended up saving $4.50 on that trip which I can now use towards something else.
That concluded my trip into town. Looking forward to next week with hopefully more savings in tow.

Another Great Savings

Alrighty, I just went into town today and tried to get the Arm & Hammer Cat Litter and the Janes chicken products but as suspected they were all sold out (*slamming head against wall*) With no rain checks :(

However I went to Pharmasave today and picked up Jergens Daily Glow Moisturizer and L'Oreal Hair Treatment Conditioner and Paid $4 for both! Jergens was on sale for $3.79 and I had a $2.00 off online coupon (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/337/jergensnaturalglowdaily.png/) Also for the L'Oreal Hair Treatment products they were on sale for $2.99 and there are in store coupon for $1.50 off the conditioner. Before tax they both came to $3.28. With tax it came to $4.30. Not. Too. Shabby.

As well websaver.ca has a great coupon on now where you can get a free Glade Sense & Spray holder. So I picked one up at Lawtons and only had to pay the tax at $1.50! Can't go wrong there.

So just to recap the Jergens daily facial moisturizer is a regular $6.99 at Lawtons; the L'Oreal Hair Treatment Conditioner is a regular $4.99 (I think) and the Glade Sense & Spray Holder is a regular $9.99 so it all came to $21.97. Add the tax, the final total is $25.27 and I got it all for $5.80. That's $19.47 in savings!!!!

Well even though I didn't get what I initially came for, I did get some great savings :)

Let's Start the Savings

Ok for my first trick...oops wrong job!

Alright the first saving I will share with you all is (oh this is really exciting! I'm getting neeervvvouuusss) Haha ok anyway I like point form so just look below and you'll find my first savings post.

*If you are heading to your local Atlantic Superstore this flyer week period you will see that they have a sale going on for their Dove Body lotion and bar soaps at $2.99 each. They have an instore coupon for $2.00 off two different Dove products. When you purchase both it should only cost you $4.00 (before tax). They had the same sale on last week at Shoppers with their body lotiona and exfolioants and it only cost me $4.00 (before tax) for both! They usually are like $4 or $5 EACH regular price so this is a good deal!

*Giant Tiger is having a sale on two of my favorite things but should never be combined..Janes Breaded Chicken Strips and Nuggets ($4.48 each! Reg. $8.97) and Arm & Hammer Cat Litter ($3.74 Reg. $7.48) PLUS!!!! I found a coupon for both that you could probably use (Please note I have not tested this yet) For the Janes Products go to http://www.surgele.ca/Concours/Produits-Participants/Zone-Coupons.aspx. This website is called Surgele.ca and it's a great coupon site in Quebec. It is for $2.00 off any Janes chicken product. You will need to set up an account with them to print off the coupon but it's free, however it is in french but to login is fairly easy. Now my french isn't great but once I printed the coupon off I read the bottom of it and it didn't say you couldn't use it outside of Quebec so that's good! So with this coupon you should be able to get the Cat litter for $2.48 plus tax!

For the Arm & Hammer Cat litter, if you go to http://www.armandhammer.com/ and you join up free on their website you can print off a $1.00 coupon on their double duty litter (located at the bottom of the main page called Coupons) When you go to print off the coupon, it will ask you download their printer on to your computer. If you are not comfortable doing this www.save.ca also has the same coupon but you will only get it in the mail and won't be able to use it with this weeks saving.

Now please bear in mind that I have not gone to purchase these items yet but planned to soon (if they still have some Oh Please Oh Please Oh Please!!!!)

*Also my last one for the day is a buy one get one free at New York Fries. Heres the coupon. Expires May 31st, 2011 http://coupons.smartcanucks.ca/get/canadian-coupons-canada/new-york-fries-3763/

Wow, Ok so I've done my first post...not bad but don't worry if none of these sales work for you then you may see something you like on my next post.

Happy Savings!

Welcome Bluenosers and Non-Bluenosers!

Hello Everyone! My name is Alice and I have decided (like many of you already) to start a blog about my new favourite pass time, Couponing! However I have been looking around and I haven't found much in the way of blogs dedicated to the East Coast Canadians. I apologize though if any of you are reading this going "Well obviously she didn't see my East coast blog!" Really really sorry...sometimes my internet surfing skills suck :(

For those of you though who are not familiar with the term Bluenoser, it is used to describe a person from Nova Scotia, Canada such as myself. It's also named after a very famous Canadian fishing and racing schooner that was built here in the same province (You can see it on the Canadian dime).

So yeah that's where that comes from and as much as I enjoy talking about the lovely province of Nova Scotia and it's history, that's not what this blog is about.

I thought It would be neat idea to start keeping track of my of the deals I find and the coupons I can use them for. This is not only for my benefit but for others as well as things now and days seem to be getting more expensive then ever (*cough GAS*-excuse me) So why not try to have your dollar stretch as much as possible.

Please feel free to leave me comments on other sales that you see I will do my best to put them on here. While this site is certainly open to anyone who should stumble upon it, I really am only focusing on Coupons and deals that I find here in Nova Scotia. So if you find that I mention a deal on here and you go and try to find it at your store with your coupons it may not work.

Alright, let's not put this off any longer I am going to start posting the deals that I find in the next upcoming posts. I hope you find this helpful and hey, if I can let someone know about some great savings so they can put their money towards something else, then I've done my job :)
